On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Pallotti Hill Public School, under the leadership of the Sanjeevani Eco Club and the guidance of in-charge teachers Ms. Prameetha, Ms. Margret, and the Vice Principal Ms. Seby Sebastian, conducted a special cleaning program for the students to celebrate the day as a “Service Day.” Gandhi Jayanti, observed on 2nd October, marks the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, who strongly advocated for cleanliness and believed that keeping our surroundings clean is a moral duty of every citizen. To honor his principles, the school dedicated the day to a cleaning campaign aimed at promoting the value of cleanliness.
Students from Classes 6 to 10 actively participated in the program, cleaning the school premises and the adjoining road under the guidance of their teachers. The Sanjeevani Eco Club took the lead in coordinating the event, ensuring that all safety protocols were followed and that the cleaning drive was conducted in an organized and efficient manner. The students worked in teams to remove litter, sweep the grounds, and ensure a clean environment, reflecting Gandhi’s vision of a clean and healthy India. This initiative provided students with an opportunity to contribute to the school community while instilling in them the values of responsibility, teamwork, and environmental stewardship. The cleaning program was a meaningful way to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti, serving as a reminder of his teachings and the importance of maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings.
